The animation in this was good. I used to post about animation here.
I think overall the movie was very good culturally.
I see they use traditional animation, so you'd have to be a drawer
to do it. You'd do well off like me starting high school with Art I or
Talented Art.
I didn't feel it was racist. I thought the characters were treated well. I don't really see them as divided racially.

Oh, Barrett, we missed you!
He's a vanilla rapist, get him away from my kids!

Sorry I didn't get back with you sooner. I didn't check my BabyFrog e-mail.
So, yea, the world of animation is fascinating. I finally cleared a
space for me to draw and paint. I also do music in my spare time. I
actually bought a book on how to animate characters at MGM.

I have Disney Animation: The Illusion of Life on hold at the library.
I used to want to be an animator, but I don't have the drive or
talent to do it. I am however playing around with stop-motion animation,
just for fun.
PIGS ARE PEOPLE!

Oooh.
That's cool. I just went to Disney yesterday and .
I used to dream of being an animator, as well.
That's cool you're doing stop motion.

I bet you're excited for Frankenweenie. I am.
I can do without a book I'll never read. Second hand faith is all I need.

It's quite a special occasion.

The animation was beautiful. I really wish they'd make more like this rather than GCI.

CGI is
awesome. I know Full Sail has a Bachelor's in Computer Animation. You
can chose to focus on the Animation, if you look on the right at "Areas
of Focus:" http://www.fullsail.edu/degrees/computer-animation-bachelors
For example, UCF where I live has a concentration in Character Animation under the Art - Emerging Media BFA.
I wonder if there's a difference between doing Art and Computer
Animation. I see the L.A. Film School's degree is in Computer Animation:
http://www.lafilm.edu/flash/index.html?degree=computer-animation However, U.C.L.A. doesn't have Animation.
I used to be a young artist, but I didn't like go all out and make
paintings as a kid. I did more crafts and drawing. I had origami books
and a craft book. However, I never am able to understand the
instructions of how to knit and crochet, which I'd like to. In high
school, I did Art I & II. Art III was sculpture and digital media,
but I wasn't interested and did Talented Theater instead. I wish I
dropped other extra educational classes that people take for certain
college majors maybe or for impressive entrance resumes and took the art
classes.
I think Tim Burton is really awesome with The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, and now also Frankenweenie.
That's stop animation. You probably know. He uses puppets and moves
them for each shot. He has other people do that, though. He just creates
the story and the last 2 he directed, also.
Movies like Alice in Wonderland have a lot of art in it, too,
which is also interesting. I posted on that board for a long time. It
was a very successful movie.
I found the animation in this to be very good. I like the way the colors contrasted and blended. It's similar to Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King, which are big classics. I find that Sleeping Beauty and Hercules
are similar in that like with the hair I know they have the lines in
the hair be gold or light brown etc. instead of black if their hair
isn't black. What if they had a princess with white hair? I always liked
that "My Little Pony" with pink hair and a white body. I also liked the
ponies in Fantasia. Blue used to be my favorite color, but my
favorite is probably the pink one. Those are also quite classics. It's
nice to see this princess be added to the rest.
Art is a fun activity and is good for you. You should get some
painting supplies and do some things. You do know that they have pads of
painting paper called Acrylic paper. You know to get the large bottles
of paint in the 3 primary painting colors and the 2 neutral colors,
that's red, blue, yellow, black, and white. I hadn't painted in a long
time and forgot the black and white when I got my paints at first. You
can mix the paints on wax paper or aluminum foil. I don't remember
special trays for mixing paint at Wal-Mart. That would be better,
though. It still works out pretty well on the wax paper or aluminum
foil. When I started to paint again, I didn't think of that immediately
but figured it out pretty quickly. I cleared a spot on the table next to
my computer for art. I have 2 tables. One is bigger. So, I do art on
the bigger one. Art helped me with my muscles and to improve how I felt
in health at a hard time. I also have a sofa. I live in my parents's
garage but eat with them. I also cleared a spot for singing. I have just
enough room for everything and might clear even more space.
So, yes, the art is very beautiful. You have inspired me to make my own art from The Princess and the Frog.

"I see they use traditional animation, so you'd have to be a drawer to do it."
I think most of the people who work at Disney can draw in some
manner. Unless you're going in there to run the company and handle the
business end, I'm pretty sure its required that you know how to draw.
|
|
Yea, I imagine you have to draw to make characters.
